So, my IRL friend Rebecca, has recently started a blog. Her hubby has a blog, but he talks about a lot of political stuff that puts me to sleep (Sorry, Robbie!) and he has been rubbing in his follower numbers!! Birthday Swag

My birthday was good to me, people. Like, real good. Turning 26 might have been traumatic for me, but atleast it came with good presents!!

My mom and step-dad got me my camera bag(SCORE!) and an apple green Nike running tee. This is the Jill E Medium dark pink bag. It's fabulous. It holds my camera body, both lenses, and has room for either another lens or a flash-which will be my next purchase. It has all kinds of pockets for EVERYTHING and even a little purse to hold fun stuff. 

Even though John wasn't supposed to get me anything because my real birthday present was running at Disney. Plus, my new camera and two lenses, AND a new computer- I think I had enough new stuff and REALLY tried to put my foot down, but John said he couldn't let me NOT open anything on my birthday. ( Seriously people, he is part of the reason I am so spoiled. I love him and you cannot have him!)

My friend Jennifer who just had multiple babies got me the cutest red picture frame and a decorative "M" houndstooth towel. I love friends because I have the best ones!! My sis got me a rocking Tervis Tumbler (You know how I love those!) and some money that she specified for my new camera strap from Phat Straps. Which will be here in a couple of weeks!

Magical

My birthday was a hit! I had a blast, we ate at Ruby Tuesdays and I got so much Nike Running gear it wasn't even funny! Seriously, when I take a picture( and I WILL take a picture) you will be floored. BUT, I may not be around much this week, because I will be busy making magic happen. This is what I did for 5 HOURS yesterday. And people, that was my 2nd day there. I want to hear you brag on me, because, day 1? It wasn't easy! 

A-Day and Happy Birfday to MEE!!!

Saturday, we loaded up the kiddos after a rocky morning, and headed to what we like to call, "God's Country".. Tuscaloosa. Alabama's A-Day game was Saturday and we don't miss an excuse to get down there. I think he was over being mad at me for my mini-meltdown.

In other news, today is my 26th birfday. I am seriously having a HARD time getting older. I started crying the other night thinking about it. I just can't handle it. I still feel 16 years old sometimes. How am I responsible for 2 children? Aren't I am irresponsible teenager still?
Sunday night we celebrated my birthday with the McPhillips b/c they are going out of town for two weeks to the beach. Yes, I am jealous. We went to Stix and I had some delicious sushi. Jay, Joseph, and Tracie thought it would HIGHlarious to embarrass me with the people singing to me in Japanese and I was thoroughly embarrassed. Especially since I was standing up talking to them and they burst out laughing. I guess I know what it's like to have brothers now! John and Linda got some running socks and a an awesomely awesome sports bra. Thanks for looking at the list, MeMac! :)

Last thought, I am thinking about doing a blog makeover and changing the name... what do you think of Houndstooth and High Heels? Yay or Nay?

Updates

Happy Friday! I wanted to update you on my friend Liz. I was misinformed, she was going to an ultrasound of her breast and then if they radiologist wanted to, a mammogram. So, there was a mass, but the radiologist said that it was dense breast tissue from breastfeeding for too long. I told her she needed to STOP breastfeeding Ansley (she is 2!!!) immediately! It was getting borderline creep-o! Anyway, so thanks for the good vibes and prayers for Lizziola!

Also, one of my best friends, Mallory has started a blog!!! You should go over and check her out because she is awesome. She is so stinkin' cute and one of the most precious people you will ever meet. Plus, she has amazing style. Seriously, her house is amazing!!! So, go tell her Welcome to Blogging!

Prayers Needed!!

One of my good friends, Liz, is back having an mammogram because of a lump they found in her breast at her last doctors visit! Let's send her some good vibes and non-cancerous thoughts!! I have my fingers crossed for a clogged milk duct! :) 

God Was Watching Over Me...

This morning, I really didn't want to drag myself out of bed at 4:30. I did get up, turn the alarm, off, and then started feeling guilty b/c I skipped the gym yesterday and didn't feel as good. So, I got back up and headed out. I worked it out doing some abs and arms, climbed back into the car and headed back home. There is a red light a block from the gym. It was red. I was sitting there, FB-ing, checking tweets, checking my words with friends-my usual redlight stuff and caught green out of the corner of my eye, and put my foot to the pedal. I crossed half-way through the intersection before I realized. IT. WAS. STILL. RED. Thats right, people, I got so distracted by Facebook, that I ran a redlight that I was actually stopped at. 3 cars came through the intersection after I did...God was watching over me this morning. I immediately threw my phone down and vowed that nothing was more important than( even beating my brother in law at words with friends) my safety in a car. WHAT IF the girls had been with me? WHAT IF those cars would have hit me? All because I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings and playing on my phone. It was super scary and quite the eye opener. So, if you see me around, I'll be sure to have my blue tooth on, and no texting while driving! FB can wait too!!!

Soapbox on 3D....

I hate 3D movies. Seriously. I've never been a big fan of the 3D stuff, just because I hate the glasses and it gives me a headache. Back when John and I went to CEDIA( extreme nerd stuff for home theatre) the 3D TV was all the rage. And I didn't like it. I don't like 3D. It doesn't impress me. Anyway, so John and I went to see The Clash of the Titans last night, and of course it was in 3D. All these new movies are coming out, and they are only offered in 3D and it's ticking me off. Not to mention the craptastic previews of 3D movies coming out that we got. Seriously, they look awful. Anyway, the movie was okay, but I had to keep taking my glasses off so I could watch. 3D just doesn't impress me. I told John that when the people look 3D, it does look good, but then they do all these fights and CGI stuff in 3D and it looks bad. Like, claymation, bad. It doesn't look real at all! John said that he heard that one of the Twilight movies was going to be in 3D and Harry Potter and I am mad. I don't want to watch those movies in 3D. And I don't want to wait until they aren't. I don't understand why we can't just have some awesome CGI and HD movies. Why isn't that enough?? Stupid Disney for trying to raise the bar. I hate it.

Update on the Cleanse...

So, you may be wondering what happened to the cleanse. Well... lemme tell you, deprivation- is not for me. Friday, which was Day 2, I vomited and was so weak that I couldn't do anything. I felt like someone hit me with a bat and left me for dead. I had John pick me up some Subway on the way home and vowed never to drink the Ionic Blend ever again. Saturday, I got to start eating real food again, and it was nice. Sunday, I went a little overboard with Easter. Monday, I did okay with the eating and then Tuesday it was back to not eating, I drank two rounds of the Fasting Solution and threw in the towel. I couldn't drink the stuff anymore. The weight loss wasn't worth it. Now, my body won't quit telling me to eat. It's afraid I am going to deprive it again. So... I am back in the gym, working on my fitness. I made a friend who is ripped and helping me get ripped. I went running this morning with Claire- and that was a workout!! So, I am going to do lean cuisines, and protein shakes, and LOTS of fruit and veggies. We'll see if that works better. :)

Easter 2010

I have been so consumed in the misery that has been the cleanse that I haven't blogged about Easter. Thursday was Addison's Easter Party at school, and the all those 2 and 3 year olds running for Easter eggs was probably the cutest thing I've seen in a while. Addison and her best friend Claire from school.. they are adorable together.

We were going to go the church Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, but it rained it out, so we didn't go. Sunday morning, though, the Easter Bunny was in such a hurry, he left a trail of candy and paw prints to the baskets.

She also opened an egg full of M&M's and ate as many as she could cram in her mouth before we could stop her.

We went to church and as we were walking up, Addison exclaimed, "Look at all these people here to see Jesus!" It made my heart super happy.

All the kids that hunted eggs... it was so awesome to have this many kids at Mom's. It was Easter was supposed to be about... We had such a great time. It's been a while since a family gathering didn't feel like "forced family fun."

I love this man with all my heart. Thanks for being so awesome!
