Show Us Your Life

Happy Friday! We are continuing on with our wedding theme. Since my anniversary was yesterday, I feel that a lot of you are probably getting into a little overload with my wedding, so I apologize. Our reception was at someone's house which is actually a barn. A VERY NICE barn, but a barn, none the same. We did a buffet style supper and it was delicious. We had it catered by Designs By Grace, which also did our rehearsal dinner. They did such a fabulous job! They did everything... set up, take down, ordered the tent, provided bartenders... everything. And the food was delicious. We had a great band! They were so awesome! We left after the reception and went to Birmingham to spend the night at the Winfrey Hotel. John's parents came down on Sunday and ate the breakfast buffet with us. We came back home and went back to work for a week before we left on our honeymoon. We took a Royal Caribbean cruise and had a great time. I don't remember the ship name( sorry, John!) but it went to Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and I think, Puerto Rico? I honestly can't remember. I DO remember that at Puerto Rico or wherever it was, they had these beautiful red and white beaded pillows that I didn't get because they wouldn't come down on the price and John said that we could find them somewhere else. WRONG!! I have never been able to find them anywhere and it makes me a little sad. :(

One of my favorite pics.. my mom and I toasting when it was all said and done. You can even see my brace!( Did I mention I had a wreck the week before my wedding and fractured two bones in my foot? I honestly can't remember if I did. I'm still extremely bitter about it and when it rains... my ankle still hurts.)

My wedding cake was so pretty! I loved it! I don't have a picture of John's but, as we say around here, "It was the mad note!" Chocolate and peanut butter was on one layer and chocolate and strawberry was another. YUM-O! We only got the pieces that we fed each other of his cake and of course, it was all decked out in Alabama garb!

I love a good lighthouse, don't you?

Bribery Works Every Time...

We packed up this weekend and headed to the beach for a friend of ours' wedding. Addison was going to be their little flower girl. We were calling this the "trial run" to see how Addy would do for Joseph and Tracie's wedding next month. I had promised a PRIZE if Addy made it down the aisle. She would tell anyone who would listen that she was going to walk down the aisle and get a PRIZE.

Honestly, I was more than a little worried about it. Addison is two HALF, after all. You just never know what they will do. I figured out pretty early on, that this wedding was to be on the actual SAND. Not on the grass, as I had earlier thought. My visions of my little temperamental red head were not looking so good. I also found out that there was going to be another flower girl who was a few months older than Addison. Certainly, she could wrangle Addison if she got out of control. Right? Turns out, said flower girl was quite shy. She looked a little scared of Addison at their first meeting.

I honestly don't blame her. She scares me a little too.

Anyway, during the rehearsal, I realized that trying to control Addison near the ocean and in sand was not going to be an easy task. She was digging and playing and kicking sand everywhere.

All while little Brooke stood quietly and held her mommy's hand.

After I was able to physically force her off the sand, we went to the rehearsal dinner and saw the most beautiful sunset on the way there.

And this crazy looking house. We found out that they have been building it for 8 years!

When it came time to get ready, Addy informed me that she did not like her flower girl dress. And proceeded to try to take it off. Oh, crap. This isn't going to work. But she put it back on and didn't say another word.
Here is little Addison waiting to be the flower girl.

John and Claire at the wedding. I hardly heard him complain about how hot it was. He was a good sport.

Here is someone you don't see very often. Uncle Jay, who according to Addison, lives in a football game with Big Al.

Sharing a sisterly moment.

Is it my turn yet?

Waiting our turn. I had to hold her, so she didn't run into the wedding processional.

Walking down the aisle.. notice, no pedals are being thrown.

"Hey Brooke, you coming with me?"

Proud Girl!

She made it!!

Even Claire was enjoying herself

Caught with the watermelon. Girlfriend could've turned into a piece of watermelon she had so much. The front of her dress is pink with watermelon juice.

She would grab a piece of watermelon and run around on the dance floor and then back to the watermelon... she just made a giant circle

She did great during the wedding and even had her picture made after a bribery of sweet tea. She is a Southern Girl! Claire screamed pretty much the whole way down and back and spit up a lot. But, all is forgiven for just one of her little smiles.
