Can I get something to wipe the drool off?

I have never understood how someone can be Team Jacob. He totally steps all over Edward's territory. He has no respect of boundaries. Plus, ya know, he is just REALLY annoying.
Edward is kind and gentle and respectful. He treats Bella like the prize she should be. ( Funny story, I would consider John more of a Jacob than Edward.)He is also sparkly and chiseled.
But, seriously, have you seen him???? RPattz is totally drool worthy. He IS Edward Cullen. These pictures alone would have sealed his fate as a heart throb.

I am just glad he is legal.

Closet Cleaning

I have gotten extremely tired of going into my closet and filing through all of my clothes and pronouncing, "I have nothing to wear!" John would not agree. But he wears khaki pants and a polo shirt to everything, so what does he know??? I took it upon myself yesterday, to go through some of my clothes to send to consignment. I don't know why I do this, because I never make any money, but I don't have to look at them or deal with doing a yard sale, so I guess it is worth it! This still isn't going to help my clothing dilemma, but maybe it'll free up some space in my closet and John will feel bad for me and let me buy some new clothes.

This is the "Before" shot.

"Ahhh... Paparazzi!!!"

Here is my "shirt" section of my closet. Somewhat color coordinated, but a LOT of shirts that do not fit a breast feeding mother. Here is where all of my work clothes have gone to die. I used to be able to wear these... that was before two children.

"Pants" section... it isn't quite as bad as the shirts.

Voila! Here is the after. Yes, there is still a lot of clothes in there, but most of it is t-shirts. I still do not have appropriate work attire. *sigh*

Want to know what I pulled out? Okay, 15 t-shirts. 15!!!!

Someone else wanted their picture taken! It's Trixie!

Here is 20 shirts and 5 pairs of pants. I also still have to go through stuff that I pulled for the yard sale that didn't get sold. Fun stuff!

P.S. I am trying to figure Flickr for blogging. I tried it this time instead of just uploading the pics from my computer. Does anyone else use Flickr? Is it better? Easier? I found it VERY difficult to actually figure out how to get the ball rolling, but I kinda like it.

Freaking wild animals...

When I was growing up and learning to drive, it never occurred to me to be thankful that I had never hit a deer. In hindsight, I guess I was quite lucky. A group of deer live behind my parents house and at least once a week we see those suckers. Sure, I would see them crossing the road and they would jump 20 ft in front of your car and never even look at you.

Well, as of yesterday I am in that lucky few that have ACTUALLY hit a deer.

I was headed back to my mom's to pick up the girls (thank GOD they weren't with me) and I had to hurry to get them because I needed to stop by the bank and sign some paperwork and out of the left cornfield, a deer, literally, appeared in front of my car, there was nothing I could do, because the minute her hoof touched the ground, my front end was knocking her down.

I slammed on my breaks to keep from running over her.

Her head left an indention in my hood.

I watched in horror as my front grill popped out and hit the pavement.

She skidded a good twenty five feet on the road and into the grass. I immediately threw the car in park, grabbed my cell phone and jumped to go see if said deer was alive. I am dialing John's number.

"Hello?"

"I..I..I...I just hit an (expletive) deer!"

"WHAT?!!?"

"I just hit an (expletive) deer!!"

I was okay, just shaken up. I just stood in the road. What do you do after you hit a deer? My car was running fine. I was so shaky, but unharmed. So, I picked up the pieces of my grill, double checked for the deer, which had run off, so I can only assume she was still alive, look at the tire tracks on the pavement and got back in my car and drove to my mom's.
I told her I hit a deer. She jumps up, calls for my step-dad and goes and tells my granny(who lives with them). Granny tells Grandpa, "Rachel hit a grill and deer popped out!!"

Umm.. not exactly, but close.

I realize it could have been a LOT worse. Most people that hit deer, total their car. I think my car held up nicely, all things considered. Here is a slide show of the damage. I am just figuring Photobucket out, so, I think this is the form of a slide show, which it not what I wanted, but honestly, I hit a deer and am still in shock.

I heart faces- Completely Candid Challenge

This week over at I heart faces, their challenge is completely candid. I have never entered one of their contests, but I stalk,er, follow them and when I saw this weeks challenge, I HAD to enter this picture. It is one of my very favorite pictures. It's the first time that Addison met her baby sister, Claire. I hope you enjoy!

Just something to brighten your day...

Do you certain things that are guaranteed to make you feel better? Maybe it's getting a pedicure or your hair done. Maybe it's a new outfit. Or a good movie. Or dancing in the kitchen. All of those things always make me feel better. But nothing is a guaranteed laugh like Anjelah Johnson. She is this awesome comedian. Maybe you have heard of her? Anyway, she is a YouTube hit!! Check out this hilarious videos!

P.S. I didn't know how to spell guaranteed and neither did spell check. Hubs informed me it was misspelled and then proceeded to make fun of me.

Addison's Antics

With Addison being at that age of independence and "I do it myself", I find it extremely hard sometimes to get my temper in check. She gets this attitude and points her finger at me and says things like, "No, you do NOT! I CAN listen to my song!" or whatever it is she is wanting. Honestly, I don't know where she gets this from.

She is such a daddy's girl too. Anytime she gets into trouble or you are going to make her do something that she doesn't want to do it's, "I want my Da-Daaaaaaa!!!!!!!!" Her dramatics don't work with me. I feel like a lot of times, she could take me or leave me, but her relationship with John is a different story. She just adores him. Worships the ground he walks on. She told me on Sunday after they had been at BoomPa and GiGi's house that she missed Daddy more, but Claire missed me more.

So, it came as a surprise to me last night, when I was getting ready to go out to dinner with some friends that she noticed that I was getting ready and asked me, "Where go, Mama?" I said that I was going to dinner with some friends. She looked out the window and said, "No Mama. It 'bout it start raining. You can't go. You stay here with me." Man, she really does care! :) It made me puff up my chest a bit and do a little strut. I told her that she was going to stay with Daddy and have a great time. Then, when I tried to walk out the door it started again, "No Mama, you stay here with me!" and she clung to my leg and started crying. It was heart wrenching. She has never been like that with me. Sure, I see it all the time with John, but I had never been on the receiving end.

I made it out the door and had a great time at dinner. It was so good to get together, although, we were missing a few, but we still had such a great time.

I'll just Have It My Way...

It was brought to John's attention a couple of weeks ago that you cannot order a McChicken with cheese from McDonald's. So, John being John, cut in line at McDonald's to ask the girl at the register. She informed him that mostly definitely, you could not order a McChicken with cheese.

John wanted to speak to the manager. The manager tells him that there are certain sandwiches that are "as is" and they will not add anything to them. Not cheese. Not lettuce. Not tomato. John informs him that was the stupidest thing he had ever heard of( he is really a passive person and would never insult anyone like that. NOT.) The long of the short is, the manager tells him that you could order a McChicken and then order a cheese burger and take the cheese off of the cheese burger and put it on the McChicken, if you wanted to. John tells him to stuff it.

He will just go to Burger King, where he can have it his way.

I went MIA without evening knowing it...

I got a Facebook message from one of my readers( okay, okay, he's really my friend that wanted to hear some more about John's tailgating antics, but whatevs.) I realized that I fell down on blogging last week. The girls have been sick with upper respiratory infections and we went out of town to CEDIA again ( which, is a GIANT electronics show with a BUNCH of nerds) and then headed straight to Tuscaloosa for the game. I assured Robbie that I would be back in action today with LOTS of pictures of the tent. I am a photographer, after all. Right??

Wrong. I took one picture the entire weekend and it was of a red velvet cake. Not even of the tent. I am as cool as cancer, I know.

Anyway, we had a great time tailgating, the tent is SAHWEET! I can't even tell you how awesome it is. It was tailgating heaven. Even though, I wasn't exactly 100% on Saturday, I could still appreciate it.

Things have been extremely busy around here with me trying to get the photography business up and running, but I am making some SERIOUS progress and it feels great to finally know what I want to do with my life.

Rammer Jammers and Castrated Turkeys

That time of the year is upon us. When the weather starts cooling down and the leaves begin changing colors.

It's Football Season.

John and I headed to Atlanta this weekend for the Crimson Tide's opener vs. Virginia Tech. It was a much needed break since the girls have been sick this week and it's been extremely hard to contain a little girl who only wants her Daddy when she is sick. Anyway, we made it to Atlanta and waited on Joseph and his friend Brandon to go eat dinner at Maggiano's. It was delicious. It's a great Italian restaurant that you could eat for a week off of one meal. Brandon is one of the funniest people I know, next to John, so by the end of dinner, my cheeks were hurting from laughing so hard.

We were all staying in the same room which was supposed to have 2 double beds but it ended up with one king. We had them bring a pull out bed in there and John, Joseph and I slept in the king and Brandon slept on the pull out.

Saturday morning, we went Downtown to Centinnel Park where GameDay was. We ate lunch at Taco Mac and I ran into my cousin that I haven't seen in over a year. It's so weird to see people when you aren't expecting to. We went over to Fan day and the boys had fun kicking and throwing footballs. After that, John and I headed back to the hotel so I could pump. We rode the Marta since we were staying in Buckhead and it was crowded but not bad enough that we couldn't find some seats. So, we sat down and I noticed that the appeared to be a homeless person asleep laying down on the seats behind us. Now, I've never been in such close proximity to a homeless person. I live a sheltered life. In the midst of trying to get John's attention, I notice that the homeless mad has his hand down the front of his pants. It creeps me out a little bit. I am still trying to get John's attention. He appears to be doing some adjusting. About the time John finally looks at the homeless person, I notice that he is not stopping touching himself. Yes, this man, was having a private moment with himself in front of the entire train. No one else seems to notice or care that this man is touching himself inappropriately. John quickly tells me that he is not sitting next to this guy and so we stand the entire train ride back to the hotel in total disbelief in what we have just witnessed.

When we get back over the stadium, I see my cousin again! How weird is it to see a family member twice in one day that you haven't seen in over a year? Then, we see my internet turned in real life friend, Lindsey and her husband Jeff. I can tell that as the kickoff looms overhead that the trash talk is starting. We hear a lot of Hokie(which, by the way, was a topic of discussion as to what it actually is. We asked a Hokie fan and they informed us that our guess was correct and that it is a castrated turkey. Cool mascot.)
The game was a nail biter and I wasn't sure we were going to pull it off. Our offense looked like a mess and special teams wasn't that special but our defense is awesome and rocked those Hokies world. When we game was over, it was a nightmare trying to get out of there. The way the stadium is completely messed up and if you go out the bottom gates then you have to go up an escalator or a circular ramp to get up top. So, take a mental note, when leaving the Georgia Dome, go out the upper gates and avoid the nightmare. We ended up having to take a cab back because the Marta stops at 12:30. On Sunday morning, a wrong number called and woke us up at 10:53. Check out was at 11:00. I've never been more thankful for a wrong number in my life.

We had a safe trip back and all is right with world with football season being underway! Roll Tide!

Seriously?!!?

My sweet and wonderful husband surprised me with Guitar Hero 5 dropping off at my doorstep this morning. I had no idea it was coming and was super stoked. Of course, I planned to play it all during nap time. I go to turn it on and it starts up. My fingers were itching to push the green button to start the game. I push it. Nothing happens. I push it again. Nothing happens. I push the start button. Nothing happens. Um. Okay. Well, maybe I'll get out the actual controller. Maybe it's just a little finicky. The controller works it. Whew. Okay. I am ready to play a new song. I immediately go to quickplay. I choose Judy Nails as my avatar. Excitement. She is my favorite. But, I can't scroll over to the guitar. It's stuck on microphone, which wouldn't have bothered me, except, I didn't have a microphone. I just had the guitar. So, what else is there to do? I get out the instructions. I did everything right. I get on the website, everything I tried there didn't work. It was an act of congress to get a phone number and get through the prompts and the automated lady telling me what to do. I started screaming, "Operator!" into the phone. I finally got a real person. Long of the short is, he doesn't know what is wrong. The guitar works in the system menu just not the game menu. The game wants it to be a microphone. He tells me to go to a GameStop or my nearest gaming store to try to hook it up to their demo system and see if we can figure it out from there. Grreeaat. Love that. I'll get right on that. I have two sleeping children. I would love to wake them up and take them to GameStop. Not.

Needless to say, I am pretty ticked. I want to play with my new toy. :(
