This week has been so crazy but I wanted to post about our trip to the Big Apple last weekend!! It was my birthday present from John( I know, my birthday is in April) and we had a blast! My brother-in-law Jay and my best friend Brooke went with us. We got to the Birmingham airport Friday morning around 5:45 for our 6:15 flight- yes, I know we were cutting it close, but we were running late and should have had better planning! Apparently, Friday mornings are not the day to try to cut it close for your flight. The airport was CRAZY!! People were everywhere, the security line was backed up to the Southwest counter... anyway, since we were checking luggage, we were too late to try to check in! They wouldn't let us on our flight!!! We were flying a Delta direct flight to LaGuardia, but they changed us so we had a layover in Atlanta. Fun times! Anyway, we lost 6 hours of our time in NYC. Jay was NOT happy. We finally got there around 3:30. We hit the ground running! We went to Central Park and did a carriage ride.

Then we walked over to FAO Schwartz and the Apple Store on 5th Ave.
We stopped at Tiffany's, for a late anniversary present!
We made our way over to Rockefeller Plaza
and Radio City Music Hall
And ended our evening in Times Square.
We ate in Times Square at Carmine's and it as delicious!!!
On Saturday, we got up early and rode the Subway down to the Staten Island Ferry and rode it over so we passed the Statue of Liberty. We walked up to Ground Zero and Chinatown and then walked over to Little Italy where we ate lunch at Lombardi's, the oldest pizzaria in the country. Hands down, best pizza ever!! After lunch we walked past the Brooklyn Bridge and eventually hit the subway back up to our hotel. After a short nap, we visited the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Plaza.

That night we went to the ESPN Zone for supper and football. On Sunday, we went to Macy's and Bryant Park, where Fashion Week is. Then we ate lunch at Carnagie Deli- the best and biggest Ruben sandwich I have ever had! We then went our seperate ways for our Broadway shows. John and I went to see Equus with Daniel Radcliffe- which was AWESOME!! Highly recommended. Jay and Brooke went to see Wicked and they loved it! We caught our flight back home around 10:45 that night. After about a days rest, I am ready to go back!!
