The Third Saturday in October.

For Alabama fans, the third Saturday in October is the second biggest rivalry game for us during football season.
There is just something about the Tennessee game that brings out the ugly in some people. Must be all that orange.
Typically, Tennessee fans and Alabama fans just don't get along. It's just one of those things.

This rivalry game is always played on the third Saturday in October. ALWAYS. And the winner always smokes a victory cigar. ALWAYS.

Friday wasn't my day and I ended up forgetting my dress in Cullman and we had to go shopping for me a outfit. Turns out, it was in my favor because it was COLD people.

Molly said I owned more houndstooth than anyone she knows.. it's kind of like heaven.

We decided we needed the break out the red coronas this week. They are always a hit!

As always, the tailgate was a hit, with lots of people stopping by that don't normally.. (Holla!! Lindy!)

I was pretty cold during the game, when I looked around I noticed I was the only one totally bundled up like it was 20 degrees.. I can't handle being cold. Then I realized, it's because my friends that sit in the seat next to me weren't there.

Of course I took a picture of this extremely drunk girl. It was like she didn't even check the weather before she left the house!! I may be in my winter coat, but honey, you at least need a cardigan!

After a rough first half.. (seriously. Let's not relive that.) We dominated the second half and that Rammer Jammer was a sweet one!

For those of you not familiar, we have a song we sing after we beat teams-- it's called Rammer Jammer. I shall give you the words so you can be familiar and learn some of traditions (albeit, however "classless" they are.)

Hey Vols!
Hey Vols!
We just beat the hell out of you!
Rammer Jammer, Yellow Hammer,
Give 'em HELL Alabama!

We used to play it before the games, but I think it got banned from being played.

Starting halfway through the 4th quarter, you could smell the celebratory cigar smoke.
Word on the street at that point was that LSU starting their chant "WE WANT BAMA" during the Auburn game. Our student section started chanting "LS-WHO?" That game is going to be INSANE and yes, I am missing it to run Savannah. Don't worry... I plan on finding a nice little bar with a tv to cheer my Tide on and you better believe I will have on a game day outfit!

That's 5 in a row for our streak, yo!!

It's not lit, peeps.

I'm Alive.. no worries. Unless you didn't want me to be,

Hi all. It's me.
I'm alive.
Much like Kenny Chesney.

I've had a CrAzY busy couple of weeks and honestly, needed to drop some balls that I was juggling.
 I am all caught up.
Much like Usher.

So.. I give to you.. my past two weeks via my iPhone.. (which I now realize is totally copying Neely.. sorry, yo. It wasn't intentional.)

I ran 10 miles. It was glorious and not that painful. Which makes me quite hopeful for Savannah in 32 days.

I had dinner with the Big Guy.

I wore a dress you could see through.. by accident.

I learned the hard way not to wear high heels the day after running 10 miles, no matter how NOT sore your legs were that morning.

I ate BBQ. KIDDING. I most certainly did not. But a lot of people did. Including the Tide. Sorry Pig Sooie fans.

One of the reasons I love The Zone...
I ate my weight in cheesy potato wedges.
Had a date night with the Hubs.. and had a stranger ask me if I was going to the Fair. Which I was not.
My outfit for Savannah came in.. and the shorts are monsterously large and short. Good combo!
And last but not least... we had a sickness invade one of our children that allowed me to stay home from Gainesville.

I may or may not have had a little cry about it.. since on my 30 by 30 list is to go to every SEC stadium.. and we only play Florida about once every 5 years.. so... it's not going to happen. BUT, it should totally count, right? I mean.. I've seen them 4 other times. RIGHT???

Anyway.. as you can tell.. or maybe not? I am not doing a giveaway at my 400th post.. I do have the things needed for said giveaway, but just no time right now.

So.. eventually, grasshopper.

Bare with me.. as I have lost blogging motivation. I am trying to do better.

My Style Monday and Gameday!

My Style Monday

It's another edition of Game Day My Style Monday!

I wore the strapless dress most of the day but the white cardigan when I got cold.

The dress that Hubs got me for our anniversary from "What a girl wants"
Cardigan is from F21
Boots: target
Necklace: Target
Earrings: Etc by Nikki

We got down to Tuscaloosa on Friday, to set up the tailgate.. and *gasp* someone had stolen our spot. Now, we may not own this spot, but it's been our for a while.

So, what did we do? We got as close as we could to the other tents. We are mature like that.
They ended up moving their tents back.

Late night Target shopping brought us upon this..
It's fun.. in da-middle. I am not sure why this was so funny to us.

I spied Big AL... and I had to get my pic with him.. even if he did mess up my hair.

I got some red sparkly nail polish at Sephora.. it's called "What's your Poison?" Get it.. like a poison apple??

I forgot to take pictures from once people actually showed up at the tailgate.. but it was a good time had by all, with lots of laughs that wouldn't be funny to you, since you weren't there. But.. you are invited!!

I took this picture for Becca.. I realize the game was a nobody, but there was no sense in the woman next to me falling asleep. I mean, you could only cat nap with the 2 boys that got up at least 10 times a piece before halftime.

This picture got a little out of order.. whoops.

One of the many reasons I love sitting in the zone.. besides real chairs, a locker, air conditioning, and all the Cherry Coke I can drink.. is the red velvet cupcakes.

Also.. I have a complaint. The student section should NOT be this empty at halftime. It's not cool with me.

Oh yeah... one more reason I love the one.. Cup holders.

There's only one way to celebrate a victory in my book. And it's doing the Cupid Shuffle in your tailgating neighbors tent.

Now.. onto my running lately.

The plan was for me to get up Saturday morning before we left for the tailgate and go run my long run of 6 miles.. I mapped out my run only to be told my way in and out of Jay's weren't the best running ideas that I had. So, I decided to go with my safety over my run. The run went through a bad part of town and a busy section with no sidewalks, on top of the fact I forgot my Garmin.. so I decided to a) not get stabbed b) not get hit by a car and c) not get lost.

I said, "Oh, I'll just do 8 on Sunday instead." So.. I set out to hit the treadmill. Sunday was one of those days where nothing went right. I took my iPad to the gym so I could watch Gossip Girl and found this beauty and thought my luck had turned around!

A PINK treadmill!! I knew my day was sure to pick up! But.. alas, technology hated me and I couldn't figure out how to get the Gossip Girl to play full episodes on the iPad.

Also.. it was brought to my attention that my treadmill running has been so easy since I don't do an incline, therefore my road races kick my booty because the road is harder to run on then the treadmill. So, I decided to start running on a 1 incline.. which, is taking some getting used to and makes me feel like I am the most out of shape person ever. Which really does a number on my mental toughness. I am extremely stressed right now, and I let all of the other things that I needed to be doing come crashing down on top on my run and I started to feel like I was drowning. I did something I have never done before. I quit. Yep. I stopped running and got off the treadmill. The whole time I was disgusted with myself but I knew what was coming. A mental breakdown. I could feel it coming last week. Being gone on vacation, running a business, 5 weekends in row being out of town-2 of which are out of state, gymnastics, school, laundry, cleaning the house, training, Ladies of the Houndstooth, photography assignments and projects, social networking... it's all so much. Because everything needs something from me. Right. NOW. I guess a good description of me right now is overwhelmed. Or over booked. Or not enough hours in a day.. Take your pick.
So, instead of throwing a fit and crying and taking it all out on John, I decided to sit down and write out a list. And I delegated certain tasks for John and am trying to look at what is the most important for my mental health to get finished this week. I feel like a mature adult, acting like that!

I will try to be around the Internets this week.. but I can't make any promises, as I need to drop a ball or two that I am currently juggling.

See you on the Flip Side.

Alabama vs Penn State.. Our trip to Happy Valley

I'm not really sure why they call it Happy Valley, since it's in the middle of NOWHERE. But, whatever.

We boarded a chartered bus bound from NYC to Happy Valley for the Penn State game.
The bus ride was about 5 hours and once we got off the exit, traffic was horrible. Luckily, we had a bus driver that would jump in front of traffic. Pretty sure people hated us. It probably made them feel better that they mooned us.

Anyway, Here was my game day attire..
Dress is from Ellie Crimson
Necklace: Ellie Crimson
Earrings: Etc. by Nikki
Shoes: Old Navy

Jay likes to make this face. Don't hold it against him.

After our 5 hour bus ride, and our "tour guide" making fun of people on the street and a couple of episodes of Gossip Girl, we made it.

I was shocked to see people literally tailgating out of the back of their cars.. no tents. Except by the stadium, those peeps had tents.

And? Girls don't dress up for games. EVER. I saw more girls in jersey's than guys. And they looked at me like I dressed for the Prom. Whatever. Don't hate.

Our seats were about 2 rows from God in the End Zone.. but who cares? We were in Beaver Stadium.

I would like to say that Penn State did their white out game for us. Which I think is the coolest thing in college football. It was completely white sprinkled with crimson. I don't care who your cheer for.. NO school can do a white out/orange out/black out like Penn State can and the rest of you are posers. Stop copying something awesome.

The turning of the "S"-- which looked wonky towards the 4th quarter since they were leaving.

If you didn't watch the game, then we won. 27-11. We painted their stadium crimson, peeps.

The bus ride back was... eventful. We sailed into NYC about 1:30 am. Girl was tired. I tried to sleep on the bus, but between the peeps sitting next to us who were ENTIRELY too drunk and the dude harassing the bus driver about his love life, I got about an hours worth of sleep. And I was FREEZING. Thank God I stole that blanket from Delta airlines on the way up. I may have jumped off the bus otherwise.

Funny story.. You know how drunk people think they are hilarious when they are in fact the most annoying person on the planet, when they have had WAY too much to drink? And all they want is more booze? Well, the passengers talked our bus driver into stopping at a TA to get more beer for everyone and it turns out, we went out of the way to go to the only TA on the way in a dry county. I had a silent laugh and watched the people next to me pass out. John thought for sure they were going to puke. They were THAT DRUNK. We are talking, falling in the floor, climbing into the empty bus drivers seat before we left, and honking the horn.

I got some good stories out of it anyway.. :)

Roll Tide!

Next up... I'll tell you about our NYC trip!!

It's Gameday, People!

I know all of peeps don't get how big SEC football is in the South, but I promised you would get Alabama football overload, and here is the first post of it. :)

We decided not to tailgate since the game was at 11:00. It's so weird getting to be regular fans. We got there in enough time to go into one store- my new favorite- Ellie Crimson and I got a new dress and necklace- it's super cute. And then it was time to go in for the game. That's not nearly enough time for shopping. Can we boycott 11 am games from now on?

Lee and Alana went with us.. (SEE Robbie and Becca-- it would be so much fun if we cheered for the same team!)

I even took a My Style Monday fashion picture, but did Lindsey do the link on Monday? No. No she didn't.
I broke out the vintage hat and thought I might get some compliments on it.. the only people who commented on it, were older women who would remember the correct style of hat and not those crap imitations that are all over the place now.

Our seats are in the Zone.. directly above the student section, which I dig because of the band being right there. One thing I noticed.. the fraternity pledges no longer wear coats and ties, just dress shirts and khakis. This is a travesty. After the fans and tents I saw outside the sorority houses during rush, I think we are raising a Greek system of weaklings.

They did some awesome new videos for the season, including one on the April 27th tornadoes and a ceremony. It made me tear up- I know the terror I felt from the one in Cullman, and Tuscaloosa is 10 times more devastated than us. Not to mention, all the students, faculty, and athletes that were in it and lost loved ones.

I realized that I could see myself in the reflection of John's glasses...

During halftime, we went inside, and I kept seeing this girl and thinking she had taken her top off since the back of her dress looked like a bra. Incidentally, you could actually see her bra strap under her regular dress  clasp.

I found these bad boys while shopping.. It's a WIN.
