I love you, Steve Jobs

I got a little surprise yesterday when I got home after my long afternoon of picking up kiddos, snacks, taking Addy to gymnastics and sitting there for 2 hours.. seriously. The child better be in the Olympics.
Anyway, John and I had been talking about getting my a laptop for a while.. since, we have been discussing splitting the playroom into an office/playroom and getting my desk out of the dining room.

Well, he surprised me with it tonight. What a sweetie. Now, let's be real for a second, I paid for half of it and the other half is my anniversary gift.

Addy digs it.

Me likey... with a text from Becca..

It's a beauty.. 13 in Macbook Air. They have this nifty little thing that I am going to use and love- AirDrop.. I can access my files from my desktop- photos, etc and pull them up on the laptop and load them to the blog.. or whatever. SO EXCITING.

Yes, I have an iPad.. but it really doesn't like blogging or flash, so it's not great for blogging and photography related things. Plus, the girls play with that and they are banned from my laptop. :)

On a side note.. I went for my 5 mile run yesterday and I was running at a 10:00 min/mile pace, which is what I always run at, and my body was hurting.. like it was hurting at 10:45 pace. So I stepped it up to 9:30. It felt great. Although, I do have to accommodate it for a couple of runs by running 3 minutes and walking 1 minute.. it feels great. So, while I should be excited about speeding up, I think my body hates me and is making me run faster.. Dangit it for being more efficient.

Also.. don't you want me to be Internet popular, so you can win free stuff?? Pimp me out, yo!!

Crafty- My Awesome Sign

Anyone watch "How I Met Your Mother"? I love Barney. He may be my favorite character. I saw this sign originally on Pinterest and I knew I could make it myself. So, I had Natalie use her handy dandy Cricut and cut me some letters. I then, figured out the size canvas I needed and headed to the Hobby Lobby. I laid out all the letters on the canvas to make sure they would fit, and then used a ruler to make sure the words were straight.

After I got all the letters on there, I mixed my paint color and just painted over the entire canvas. Once it was done and had dried, I took all the letters off. I did do a little touch up white paint.

And then I hung it on my wall. :) I love it! It's in the perfect spot to cheer you up when you aren't feeling so awesome.

Friday Updates!

Yesterday, as I was putting Addison's hair in a pony tail, I noticed a small piece of hair that didn't want to be a part of the pony tail party. It wanted to be free. I also noticed how said piece of hair was pretty short. And soft. And looked newly cut. So, I started inspecting and then interrogating. She wouldn't tell me much except that she had done it at MeMac's and used kitchen scissors.

I started getting to the bottom of it, when I refused to give her a second snack until she told me the whole story. (Taking food away, works for us. Don't judge.) She apparently, snuck into the kitchen, grabbed the scissors from the counter, ran behind the couch and cut her hair, then hiding said hair behind the couch.

Call me mean, but I told her if she ever cut her hair again, that I would shave her head or cut all of her hair to length in which she cut her hair. She promised she would NEVER do it again. We shall see...

On Tuesday, I drove up the Memphis for a photography get together from a forum, and I couldn't drive all the way to Memphis and not meet Natalie for coffee now could I? Most definitely not!
I also got to meet her fabulous little girl, who is nothing short of exactly how I picture Addison to be in a year. Scary...

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!

Flash Mob?

This. This is what has started my utter and complete fascination with being a part of a flash mob. Don't know what a flash mob is? Well, it's a group of people who get together and choreograph dances and do them in public places.

I saw this one today, and it's probably the best one I have seen. I immediately started youtubing these videos...

Stop. Hammer Time.

Backstreet's Back. Alright?

Can't have a Flash Mob without MJ...

Ohhh. Modern Family. I double heart you.

I totally want to be apart of one of these!! I don't care how dorky you might think it is... This is totally awesome!!!!

I found a new event to add to my bucket list... Who's with me???

A-Day and Happy Birfday to MEE!!!

Saturday, we loaded up the kiddos after a rocky morning, and headed to what we like to call, "God's Country".. Tuscaloosa. Alabama's A-Day game was Saturday and we don't miss an excuse to get down there. I think he was over being mad at me for my mini-meltdown.

Look at all the peeps!

Apparently, Aaron's said they would dress up their race car in whatever teams colors that won the National Title game, in the infamous words of the tag we saw on the way down there... "RowTid"

Man alive, I LOVE this place.. do you think they would mind if I built my house right here?

Uncle Jay with Addison

Ladies, he is single!!!

Claire has felt this way for a few days now...

Addison loves her some Dreamland sweet tea.. "ain't nothin' like 'em nowhere!"

Claire meeting PJ Fitzgerald... Alabama's former punt returner

Seriously.. their outfits are to die for. I can't handle it.

MeMac wanted a picture with both granddaughters.. unfortunately, it's this one or Addison picking her nose.

Beautiful!!

91,000 of my closet friends...

Addison always enjoys the food in the Zone... some Roll Tide Trail Mix

There isn't an Alabama game complete with a view through MeMe's binoculars

Seriously, kid, this face? I'll give you whatever you want...

"Claire.. where is your tongue?"

Mama and her girls!! Thanks Daddy for remembering to snap it!

Every girl needs some houndstooth shoes, right?

In other news, today is my 26th birfday. I am seriously having a HARD time getting older. I started crying the other night thinking about it. I just can't handle it. I still feel 16 years old sometimes. How am I responsible for 2 children? Aren't I am irresponsible teenager still?
Sunday night we celebrated my birthday with the McPhillips b/c they are going out of town for two weeks to the beach. Yes, I am jealous. We went to Stix and I had some delicious sushi. Jay, Joseph, and Tracie thought it would HIGHlarious to embarrass me with the people singing to me in Japanese and I was thoroughly embarrassed. Especially since I was standing up talking to them and they burst out laughing. I guess I know what it's like to have brothers now! John and Linda got some running socks and a an awesomely awesome sports bra. Thanks for looking at the list, MeMac! :)

Last thought, I am thinking about doing a blog makeover and changing the name... what do you think of Houndstooth and High Heels? Yay or Nay?

A First Time For Everything

I get to cross something off of my 30 Things Before 30 list!! I got to meet the fabulous blogger, Molly!! I'm not sure when my love for Molly started, all I know is, that it was love at first blog glance. We tried to meet up when I went to California in January, but they ended up living very far away from where we were staying, and the timing didn't work out. BUT... lucky for me, they are moving back East.. literally.. RIGHT NOW. And one of their stops was Nashville, which happens to be about an hour and a half from here. So, I sweet talked Philly into going up there and meeting them for dinner. Guys, I can't tell you have adorable she is. Cooper is super cute as well! Addison and Cooper (Cooo-PER as Addy called him) played and chased until they just couldn't handle it anymore. Luckily, the restaurant was pretty empty, otherwise we would've had some mad tables around us!

I think she is showing him her red shoes.
Look how cute she is! She kept saying how awful her hair looked.. I wish my hair looked like that on bad days!
John co-erced us into a duck face picture... he says I need to work on mine. My eye looks a little wonky, doesn't it?

I am staring you down!!
I had such a great time with Molly! It was kinda weird meeting someone you already feel like you know, but extremely cool to know that I wouldn't know this awesome girl, if it weren't for this crazy bloggy world!

A Post About Nothing

Please bear with me, as I am trying to re-do my blog myself, and well, let's be honest, nothing goes according to plan!

Nothing too terribly exciting has been going on around here. I got my Implanon out on Friday and now all is right (almost) with the world. I absolutely hated that thing. My hormones were all out of whack, I was incredibly tired. Like, pregnant tired. Like, wanting to go to bed at 7pm, tired. Crazy headaches that NOTHING could get rid of. Grouchy, McGroucherson, too. I also never wanted to clean or even organize. Generally, unmotivated. Plus, another lady biz problem that I won't get into here. Anyway, it's out, and on Saturday I felt like I had finally had a good night's sleep. On Sunday, I woke up and started cleaning. Whoo!

Last Tuesday, I delved into something and now I am never the same. One week. It's all it took, and my life is forever changed. I'm talking about Lost, my friends. My brother in law is a HUGE Lost fanatic. He has been trying for years to get us to watch, but I just couldn't take on another TV show, and with all the crazy cliff hangers and weeks upon weeks of no shows, would drive me over the edge, people. Well, John had already watched the first 3 episodes, and so I joined him. WHOA. People. WHOA. Sucked in from the word go. We have been watching about 4 shows a night and then a weekend marathon, and guys, we are halfway through the second season. It may mean nothing to some, but the first season alone has 25 episodes and the second has just as many. So, we may not be ready for tonight's season premiere. But, by golly, we're taping it and we will (Hopefully!) be ready for next weeks. I'm just not sure if I can ever get into not being to click to the next episode. Wait a whole week for a TV show... who does THAT?

Oh, also, I forgot to tell that Claire took two wobbly steps on Friday night towards her bath. It was really cute! I think it was an accident and she won't be out running any time soon because if her feet touch the floor, she draws up her legs and starts whining.

Remember The Rose Bowl We'll Win...

Alright. So, I am slightly sleep deprived and it's NOT because I partied it up in LA, because I didn't even come close. We got to San Diego about 8:30pm Pacific time, which was about 10:30 to us. We then had to drive to LA, and of course got lost... and got to our hotel about 11:45( 1:45am our time). We promptly fell asleep and woke up and drove to West Hollywood where we went to a taping of The Price Is Right... I think you should definitely watch it... it airs 2.24.2010. That took most of the day and by then Joseph and Tracie were close to the hotel, so we left( of course, we got lost) and went to eat. We were able to sleep in the next day, and I went up and went running ( and guess what? I got lost...) We got ready, ate some breakfast, was harassed by a 12 year old Longhorn fan who didn't know when to quit, hopped on the train system and headed to Pasadena. Can I just say how absolutely gorgeous that place is? Perfect weather, quaint town, mountainous backdrop? Perfect! I would definitely live there. LA? Notsomuch. We tailgated with family and friends and generally had a blast because it was so gorgeous!! It was so surreal to actually be there, knowing we were playing for the National Title. I realize now, that the rest of the country doesn't care about college football and could care less about it. But... it's a BIG deal to us!!!! Hello? I'm from the South.. we LIVE for college football. The stadium is so awesome, and is built somewhat into the ground, and it doesn't look near as tall on the outside as it actually is. We started off to a rocky start, Colt McCoy( Texas' quarterback) got hurt on the first drive and was out the rest of the game. It's heart wrenching for a player like that, because he seems like such a nice guy. We ended up dominating 37-21. I still can't believe it. We stayed and watched the awards ceremony and celebrated with the rest of the Tide Nation. We headed back to the shuttle service and (unknowingly) broke in front of some Texas fans, who, apparently, had nothing else to talk about and were screaming in my ear about how we broke and was this was society had come to, and the Rachel Hulk was about to come out, but my sister-in-law gave them a piece of her mind, and they shut their pie holes. We got back to LA and got in our cars, stopped at Denny's, and hit the highway to San Diego. We got to San Diego about 3:00 am, parked in a parking lot and slept for an hour and a half until the car rental place opened, so we could drop our car. We hit the airport and our flight left at 6:45 am. We got back to Nashville about 2:30 and it was 18 degrees and snowing. We somehow, locked our keys in the car and had to call BMW Assist to unlock the car. Thank God for my fancy car, because it was COLD outside. We got home and the girls came home and we all went to bed. It was the first time my head had touched a pillow in 36 hours. I could sleep for two days. But... we brought a crystal trophy back with us, and it was well worth it! I am so glad for the opportunity to go and watch history being made.

Awesomeness

Photobucket
So, I have this bloggy friend Molly, who I think, would totally be an IRL( in real life) friend if she didn't live in California. Anyway, she is doing a 100th post giveaway, and if I being honest, I need this stuff. The jewelry box is houndstooth for cryin' out loud!! I want you to check Molly out because she is awesome, but if you enter then it lessens my chance to win and I should warn you that I hold a grudge. Just kidding!

Kind of.
